The old palace is a great place to visit with its colonnade and view of the Spiniada square. The old fortress dominates the landscape and is built on a peninsula that is separated by a small canal. To the north of the island, about 26 miles from the airport, is the resort area of Sidari which is the largest resort town in this part of the island. Rebecca’s Village is located about 1km from Sidari Beach and the town itself can be reached in about 15 minutes. Sidari offers three sandy blue flag beaches with plenty of space for everyone to sunbathe. The sea and beaches are very safe and perfect for children to swim in, as the water is calm and shallow. From Sidari you can take a boat trip to three small charming islands Erikoussa, Mathraki and Othoni. To the west of the harbour are the famous coves of the Canal D’Amour. This is an area of eroding sandstone cliffs that have formed tine coves reach by paths and ladders. Sidari offers plenty of bars, nightlife and tavernas and there is a large selection of restaurants, shops and supermarkets.
