The most beautiful beach is a short walk away with its extensive sands and shallow clear water - perfect for safe swimming, snorkelling and other water sports. The apartment has reserved parking and is fully equipped for up to 6 people, including TV/video (including Free View satellite TV ); CD Player, DVD, safe, fully fitted kitchen, utility room with washing machine (and golf clubs!), patio with BBQ and sun-loungers. There is a large swimming pool shared by other private apartments. Son Parc is on Menorca’s north coast, a 20 minute drive from Mahon airport. The duplex apartment is next to the island’s only golf course (with tennis courts and free wifi) and is a short walk from the most beautiful sheltered beach with shallow water and extensive sand dunes. During the high season (May-Oct) all local facilities are open; during the low season (Nov-Apr) Son Parc is tranquil, peaceful and quiet, although restaurants and other facilities are easily accessible in other larger places nearby like the market towns of Es Mercadal, Allaiors and Ferriers. Further away are the main towns of Mahon and Cuitadella. El Toro (highest hill with monastery) overlooks Es Mercadal; ancient burial sites abound. The beach in Arenal de Son Saura is one of the best on the island. We drove extensively around and at the end settled for this beach, which is 5 minutes drive away, so 15 minutes walk or less. Mike’s place is within what the Spanish call urbanisation, which are sets of holiday homes (for some lucky guys it is their usual abode :D ). I was amazed by the natural beauty of the area and how safe it is. People are generally kind and helpful, and most shops have staff that can speak English. Mike’s apartment is nice and spacious and the neighbours are quiet. I would recommend having steak around 9pm at the restaurant beside the goof course. The view and the food is just amazing. Also try golf in the adjacent golf course or just take a stroll there. The scent of the pine trees and the clear blue sky reminds all the beauty of this world. One word of advise is be aware that there are only a few petrol stations on the whole island and do visit the ’Trattoria Vianello’ restaurant in the capital Mahon. This is by far the best place to eat, and when you see how cheap it is, you will have a big smile.
